A long interest in Victorian industrial history, together with a lifetime's love of model making, has led to the formation of 'Pre-grouping Locomotives'. Combining the two interests has created what is thought to be a unique workshop concentrating on the period where railways were probably at their zenith in expansion and at the forefront of most people's minds. This was the time when Railways opened up the country to the masses.
Pre-grouping Locomotives expertise concentrates on the period between 1850 and 1890. Within the Victorian period the scope of locomotive prototypes is vast and in order to restrict the exteremes of the era this time period has been selected; however I am happy to discuss any project that may fall before or beyond the stated timescale.
Work is always a close co-operation between the potential owner and myself. Working in this early period one of the main principals is to change conjecture to fact and often this is a two-way process between the two parties.
